    Dr. Mahnke treats adults experiencing a range of mental health concerns including anxiety, depression, and trauma/PTSD. Dr. Mahnke received her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the PGSP-Stanford Psy.D. Consortium, completed an APA-accredited internship at the VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System, and completed her postdoctoral residency at the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford, Massachusetts. At the VA, she pursued specialty training in PTSD and chronic pain, and is certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD. Dr. Mahnke’s clinical interests also include group therapy. She has led therapy groups to address a wide range of concerns with diverse clients from college students to older adults. Most recently, she developed and implemented a therapy group to help clients cope with anxiety using CBT, ACT, and mindfulness skills.

    Dr. Mahnke has clinical experience in a variety of settings including an academic medical center, community mental health, and college counseling. Before her doctoral work, she studied human development and psychology at Harvard University where she completed a Master of Education. Her background and training have prepared her to support her clients through life transitions and pursue growth across the lifespan.

    Dr. Mahnke’s therapeutic style is warm and supportive. She is adept at providing structure and a more directive approach when helpful. She believes that a supportive therapeutic relationship is the essential foundation of effective therapy, and is attuned and responsive to cultural and diversity factors that may influence client’s treatment needs. Building on this foundation, Dr. Mahnke collaborates with clients to help them make changes in their lives guided by their own strengths, values, and goals.
