Expertise & Background
Kate’s areas of interest include providing individual therapy to adults (ages 18 and older), particularly those who have experienced trauma or who are seeking diagnostic clarity.
She has a Master’s in Clinical Social Work from Simmons University and has spent most of her career working at the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial VA Medical Center providing outpatient therapy and as a member of the Dialectical Behavioral Therapy team. She is a certified provider in Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD and Prolonged Exposure for PTSD. She has additional experience in diagnosis, group therapy, and mindfulness work.

Kate’s style is both warm and pragmatic. She approaches her clients with both epistemic and cultural humility, seeing them as the experts in their own experience. Her focus is in understanding how a client’s experiences, relationships, and orientation towards the world has shaped them.
